A Note about the Arizona Renaissance Candidates Running for Election
Cheryl Calen : I am a native born New Yorker that came to the Valley in 1997, and moved to the Arizona Renaissance neighborhood in 2000. I have an MBA in Computer Technology, I work as an analyst for local utility company SRP, and am married with two wonderful children. I started on the board 9 years ago as secretary, and currently serve as President. I joined initially to become better aware of issues impacting our neighborhood, and now have the opportunity to affect positive changes by working with other board members and our management company.
Samer Abdeh : I am Sam Abdeh. I have lived in Arizona Renaissance since Sep 2003. It has been a pleasant experience and I give the credit to you. I am a marketing manager and currently employed by ON Semiconductor (www.onsemi.com). I manage a product portfolio of over $125 million in annual sales. I have been a board member (treasurer) for the last 11 years. I joined because I had a vested interest in our community regarding maintenance, care, and fiscal responsibility which all lead to protecting the value of our homes. I always welcome new ideas to further improve our community.
Angela Biddle : In September, I will have served on the Arizona Renaissance HOA Board for 2 years. I’d like your support to continue representing the vested interest of our homeowners. My husband and I moved to the southeast valley in July 2016, we love the neighborhood! My background includes graduating from college with a BS degree in Business Administration, working 18+ years in business, human resources and sales. I have been volunteering for 15+ years now and want to do what I can to help keep our community great!
Marina Grocke : I purchased my first home in the Renaissance Community back in May, 2018. I would like to serve on the board to attempt to unify the community, and continue to make the neighborhood a desirable place to reside. I am a foster parent to four young children, and in my spare time I am a social worker for the state of Arizona. I have mastered many skills in this field, including the ability to keep an open mind, stay organized and attentive, and most importantly, advocate for those that do not have a voice of the own. I would appreciate the opportunity to be involved in making positive changes for home owners in the community.
Charles Watkin Jr. : Chuck has lived in the Arizona Renaissance Community since 2001 and he loves this area. He has been married to his wife Cherene for nearly 24 years, and they have four children. Chuck is a financial analyst and is great with numbers and budgeting. Chuck enjoys meeting people and getting to know them. He loves disc golf, volunteers at his local church, and is an Eagle Scout. If elected to the board, he’ll represent all community members fairly, help facilitate further unity in the community through social gatherings, and fight to ensure that our monthly HOA dues do not increase.
Constance Yvette Ross . I want to be a board member to help represent the interests of all home owners in our community. I would like to meet and know my neighbors and encourage more involvement and pride in our neighborhood. I would like to see events held that will bring our community together. I will be fair and consistent in applying the bylaws/rules and work for positive changes in our community.
My name is Joe Curly (Melinda Imig-Spencer). My family and I have lived in Shamrock Estates for 2 years now. I have owned and operated my business for the last 12 years. I have three children ranging from 4 years old to 18 years old. I am a very passionate and driven individual and believe that I would make a great addition to the board. I love that our community is filled with so many families and would like to help keep it a family friendly community and want to make it the best it can be.
